Nick Vujicic gave a lecture to 13,000 audience in Hong Kong yesterday. He was invited by the Chinese Evangel Church and the Foundation Against Child Sexual Abuse. Born without limbs, Nick Vujicic’s life has been far from a tragedy.
Nick was born in Australia, with tiny limb buds in place of four usual limbs. Unfortunate? Yes. Sad? No. Nick has demonstrated that a positive outlook on life is more important than limbs, education or wealth. He was the first severely handicapped student in Australia to go through conventional education. He did think of suicide when he was ridiculed by his fellow students. Nonetheless, he fought on and managed to go through university, write a book, produce videos and give lectures to encourage millions of people in the world. He has visited nine different countries, and become the director of two organizations. He also runs a real estate investment business. His story can be found here at www.lifewithoutlimbs.org.
Nick shares that the worst is not loss of physical ability, but loss of hope in life.
He witnessed to the people in Hong Kong, who were starting to feel the pinch of the financial meltdown and loss of jobs. Moved audience queued up to hug him after the lecture. Why? The answer could be found in the passage above (he has no limbs but is filled with positive outlook).
