If We Can’t Avoid January, Let’s Stop Smoking

Published by bensonyeung at 7:14 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Dr George Wong, a neurosurgeon at the Prince of Wales Hospital of Hong Kong, together with his co-workers, published an article in the Hong Kong Medical Journal, about the deadly condition “aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage”.

The condition was found to have the following features:
1. It kills 50% of the time.
2. It occurs most often in hypertensive patients and heavy smokers.
3. It peaks in January.

”It is the most fatal type of brain hemorrhage,” said Dr George Wong, associate professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

As we can’t avoid January, it will be an excellent idea to control our blood pressure and quit smoking.
My article on how to stop smoking can be found here.
